Primary Elections

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

The Travis County Republican Party has done and is doing everything possible to maintain a neutral position in ALL primary races.

We take this position because we believe it is the best way for us to go about accomplishing our core mission, which is building a party organization that will serve voters interests in Travis County through a strong and revitalized Republican Party.

Voters and candidate organizers are welcome to advise us of situations that are occurring in primary races, especially if there is anything potentially unethical that is involved. However, we will seek to maintain our neutrality policy unless it legally or morally incumbent upon us to do otherwise.

No matter what happens in the primaries, it is my personal position that after the election all rival factions should have the professionalism and concern for our party’s chances in November to quickly come back together and focus our attention on winning the general election. Our opponents like nothing better to see a divided Republican Party as it helps their chances for victory. Please work with me to heal wounds as quickly as possible so that we can focus our efforts on winning in November!
